How to respond to physician burnout in a colleague
As many of us know, not all doctors work in single practice environments. Often, group practices make the most sense in terms of finances , coverage, etc for many physicians. Moreover, it creates a sense of community between colleagues, and allows for a supportive professional atmosphere between physicians.
But what about when a colleague is suffering from burnout?
Stress is internalized differently by each individual. What stresses out one person may not bother another. Regardless of this fact, when we do notice someone who is falling prey to dangers of physician burnout, there are things we can do to help support them.
